Our Story

From Ray's Church Kitchen to O'Fallon's Table

Ray's Soulfood and Turkey Legs started long before there was a restaurant.

Founder Ray began cooking soul food for his church community, and word of his cooking spread fast. That grassroots following was strong enough to support something bigger — so in August 2023, Ray opened his own restaurant at 1334 Central Park Drive in O'Fallon, Illinois.

Since then, Ray's has become known across the St. Louis metro as the Home of the Soul Food Turkey Leg — a place where the portions are generous, the flavors are bold and authentic, and Ray himself is often the one greeting guests at the door. It's the kind of home-cooked hospitality that's hard to find anywhere else.

“Had Ray's for the 1st time this past Sunday. I must say I was kinda surprised for BOB that everything was decent & in order! Very well ran, clean establishment, food was delish! Got there after church, didn't wait 5 mins to be seated, food came out within 15-20 of ordering. Everything was tasty, portions were generous, and service was superb!! I enjoyed it, delightful! It seemed all other patrons did too! A lot of takeout orders, which says Mr. Ray is pretty consistent with good service and great food. Thank you Ray's for a great dining experience, you did not disappoint!!! Great job Ray's!!!”
